Rehmaten hain tery aghyar ke kashanon par, bar girti hy to bechary musalmanon par

Rehmaten hain tery aghyar ke kashanon par,
bar girti hy to bechary musalmanon par

You blessings and favours fall on the non-believers,
And your wrath is reserved for the poor Muslims.

But sanam khanon main kehtay hain musalman gaye, hye khushi un ko ke kabay ke nigehban gaye

But sanam khanon main kehtay hain musalman gaye,
hye khushi un ko ke kabay ke nigehban gaye

Manzil e dohr se oonton ke hadi khawan gaye,
apni bahlon main dabaye huwy Quran gaye

apni tauheed ka kuch pas tuj hy ke nahi

nahi mehfil main jinhen bat bhi karnay ka shaoor

This is not a complaint, but those have treasure reserved,
Those have no sense of how to speak in the gathering.

Qehr to ye hy ke kafir ko milen hoor o qasoor, aur bechary musalman ko faqat wada e hoor

Qehr to ye hy ke kafir ko milen hoor o qasoor,
aur bechary musalman ko faqat wada e hoor

O God! You have blest the non-believers with the worldly pleasures,
And the poor Muslims have mere promise of heavenly beauties.

Ab wo altaf nahi ham pe inayat nahi, bat ye kya hy ke pehli si madarat nahi

Ab wo altaf nahi ham pe inayat nahi,
bat ye kya hy ke pehli si madarat nahi

English Translation of Verse forty seven from the famous Shikwa by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal:

Why those blessings have been withdrawn from us?
Why is it that the favours of yore are no more?

Kyun musalmanon main hy dolat e dunya nayab, teri qudrat to hy wo jis ki na had hy na hisab

Kyun musalmanon main hy dolat e dunya nayab,
teri qudrat to hy wo jis ki na had hy na hisab

O Lord! The power ye hold has neither limits and nor count.
